Library

The Monroe-Walton County Library is a part of the Uncle Remus Regional Library System. The library provides the citizens of Monroe-Walton County with reciprocal borrowing privileges with all libraries within the Regional Library System. Likewise, the Monroe-Walton County Library lends materials to citizens of all other counties within the Regional Library System.

Here are some other regular events at The Library....

Baby Reads- Every Tuesday morning at 10:30 Ages 0-5. We have a volunteer who comes in and reads, sings, and does activities with the children. The story times are very active and also educational

Chess Night- Every Tuesday evening at 5:30 pm Any Age. Patrons of all ages come in and use our various sets of chess to have one on one games.

Kid Fit Class- Third Wednesday of every month at 10:30 am Ages 0-5. We have a licensed children's fitness instructor who teaches the children about proper exercise and nutrition. This is also an interactive class where children perform fun exercises.

 Book Club- Third Thursday of every month at 3:00 pm. Each month a new book is selected and readers gather to discuss likes and dislikes to the selected book. (current book is "The God of Small Things")

Family Movie Night- Last Tuesday of every month at 6:00 pm. Each month a new movie is selected and snacks are provided.
All events are free and open to the public.
