Join us for Downtown Monroe's 60th Annual Christmas Parade!
Parade will start at 6:30 pm and will travel down Broad Street going from south to north. The theme for the 2013 parade is:
This year's Christmas Parade is extra special as we honor the famous Monroe Girls Drum & Bugle Corps, the goodwill ambassadors of Georgia (read more about the history of the parade and the Girls Corps). The Girls Corps started in 1949 and performed around the country until 1983. We have a proud heritage to honor in their performances throughout the years.
In this same spirit, we want this year's parade to invoke great memories of Christmases from past decades. So dig through the old photos, laugh at the fashion trends that have passed, and smile at the great memories of experiencing the holidays through the decades. Let's revisit all of the images that Christmastime brings up.... baking cookies, sitting by the fire, reading the Christmas Story, holiday parties, decorating the tree, caroling...whatever your family traditions may have been over the years, we want you to bring that into this holiday season through our Downtown Monroe Christmas Parade.
While you're downtown check out our businesses' holiday decorations and vote for your favorite!
Registration is limited to the first 75 entries. Early registration is discounted...so sign-up today!
