Happy 250th Birthday America! Bring the family for a birthday celebration fit for a nation sponsored by Synovus on July 4th, 9am-2pm centered around the historic courthouse in downtown. We will spend the day celebrating with live entertainment, historical tours around the city, farmers markets vendors, crafters, food and treats trucks. Making memories is what we do here in Downtown Monroe! 

  • 8:00am Walton County Historical Society Historic Hustle 5K followed by brunch and live entertainment at the Davis-Edwards House. Click HERE to register. 
  • 9:00am-2:00pm The Stars and Stripes Trail at the Monroe Market will expand to include over 100 artists, farmers, and craft vendors. Click HERE if you are interested in applying to be a vendor.
  • 9:00 Historical trolley tour with local historian Steve Brown. Click HERE to purchase tickets. 
  • 10:00 The Yargo Concert Band will perform patriotic melodies at the front steps of the Walton County historic courthouse. Sons and Daughters of the American Revolution will be present in period dress for the fun and festivities.
  • 11:00am The children’s Sparkle and Spokes Parade will take place on Midland Ave.  Decorate your bikes and trikes for great prizes. No motorized vehicles allowed. No registration needed.
  • 11:30am The Great American Pie Showdown baking contest will take place the historic courthouse. Click HERE for rules, regulations, and registration.
  • Live entertainment by 2nd Round Music at the courthouse pavilion, food trucks, and children’s activities from 9:00am- 2:00pm. Come for the fun. Come for the food!
  • 9:00- 6:00pm The Town Green Splash Pad will be open for a splish-splashing good time. (free)
  • 9:30pm The Downtown Monroe spectacular fireworks display will take place in the area of Blaine Street Station, synced to patriotic music provided by WMOQ Monroe.
