Antiques Capital of Georgia

Antiques

With over 1,200 booths and 300,000 square feet of antiques, vintage, and re-purposed items, the City of Monroe and Walton County has the largest concentration of antique stores of any other county in Georgia.  Monroe was a premier cotton producer in the state of Georgia during the 1900s.  During this period, two large cotton mills in downtown Monroe served as the driving economic force in the region.  Today the mills have been redeveloped by local owners into mixed-use developments that still serve as economic engines for the region by showcasing premiere antique markets, event space, and other unique retail.
